Semi-Senior Accountant

Are you looking for a new challenge and enjoy working with multiple clients everyday? This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified/part-qualified Semi-Senior Accountant with experience in practice to join our team in Bishop's Cleeve, Cheltenham. Clients like to see us and we like to see them too, so this is a full-time office based role.

What will you be doing:

You will have responsibility for maintaining the accounting records for a wide range of clients, preparing VAT Returns and assisting with other accounting work, including:

Carry out bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients using Xero and Hubdoc.
Preparation and submission of VAT Returns.
Producing Year End Accounts for Limited Companies, Sole Traders and Partnerships.
Producing Management accounts.
Assist with preparation of personal tax returns.
Regular communications with clients.

What you’ll need:

The position will be considered on a full or part-time basis, we could be flexible on hours for the right person. The role will suit someone currently studying AAT Level 4 or equivalent and looking to complete an Accountancy Qualification or suitably qualified by experience.

Personable character, able to communicate well with others and strong work ethic.
Online Accounting software experience (essential), Xero (preferred)
Book-keeping experience to include sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
12 months UK based accountancy practice experience.
Strong IT skills using Microsoft Office
Excellent organisation and administrative skills.
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
Great attention to detail.
Flexible, motivated and a pro-active team member, who can make a positive impact to the practice.

What can we offer:

In return you’ll be offered a salary of up to £26K depending on experience, plus study support, with additional benefits such as onsite parking, company pension, 25 days holiday entitlement plus bank holidays. We like to finish early on Fridays.
